| Step 1: From your photo-editing software application, open your digital photo. |
| Step 2: Duplicate the photo's layer so that there are now two layers. Turn off the bottom layer. (You'll want to have two layers in case you make an uncorrectable mistake on the work layer.) |
| Step 3: Choose an extraction tool (In this case we'll be using the magic wand tool.) |
| Step 4: Use the magic wand tool to select the areas outside of the photo's subject. This tool will select the colors you want to delete. (You can adjust its settings to pickup more or fewer colors.) |
| Step 5: Delete the areas chosen with the magic wand tool. |
| Step 6: Use the eraser tool with a soft edge to clean up the jagged areas around your subject. |
| Step 7: As you get into tighter spaces, lower the size of your eraser tool. |
| Step 8: Open your chosen Digital Photo Backdrop from the CD or DVD. |
| Step 9: Scale the Digital Photo Backdrop to the desired size and drag it onto your digital photo. Move its layer under your subject's layer. |
| Step 10: You're done. Now you may want to add shadows, highlights, glows, or other effects. Have fun with it. Go wild! |
